When it comes to blushes I'll definitely admit that I'm a hoarder. But when it comes to orange blushes, it's more of an obsession. When you find a color that compliments your skin tone, you tend to buy more of that color. I think I have about 24 total, but the 10 listed in this post are all permanent and still available online (links provided for convenience). I didn't think it was fair to include orange blushes that were LE or no longer available. I like to rotate my blushes giving them all some love and even though they may look new, I've actually worn all of them.

My family and I spent 4 days over the MLK holiday weekend at Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort. It's one of our local ski resorts that's about a 6 hour drive for us. It's also a big weekend for skiers because it's a 3-day weekend and the kids are out of school. I always book our condo over the Christmas holiday because there's always a huge selection available at the base of the mountains close to the village where there's ski-in/ski-out and walking distance to the lifts.

I asked my followers on Instagram if they wanted to see a video of "high-end palettes" or "high-end highlighters" for Fall they overwhelmingly choose "high-end palettes". So I gave them 6 of my favorite palettes for fall along with swatches. I also compared them to another palette from the same brand. The video is a little over 8mins long and is full of fun palettes and swatches. I hope that you take a moment and watch it and also follow me on YT for more video swatches and comparisons.

I don't wear jeans that much but when I do it's a pair from my favorite brand PZI Jeans. I have jeans from this brand dating back to 2007. Before I retired I was introduced to this brand by another Flight Attendant that had curves like mine. We could only wear black jeans through the airports and they couldn't be low rise or hip huggers... yep we had a dress code. This really limited our selections because back then everything was low rise and that didn't suit the figures of the more curvier girls like me. This brand specializes in jeans that flatter curvier women without showing that top butt fat...you know what i'm talking about!

Juvia's Place The Masquerade Palette was such a joy to swatch! This company is pretty new, black owned and has a total of three palettes on the market so far. It has become a favorite amongst women of color because the colors are so vibrant and actually show up our our brown skin. Included is a YT video of live swatches for those of you that just need a little more clarity before purchasing.

I have been wanting these Paris Light by Glamcor for the longest and I finally got them for my vanity. These are wall mounted lights that can be attached with two screws or heavy duty velcro. They can be mounted to the wall or any kind of flat surface wall mirror. The lights come in two sizes, a 30" or a 36". I purchased the 36" which cost $495. They plug directly into a power source and are controlled with a remote control. If you want to learn more about then, be sure and click on the unboxing video below!

These two palettes have been circulating throughout the Instaphere on all the popular hashtags that women of color usually go to to look up swatches... some of them are #mmwoc, #brownskinswatches #brownskinbeauty, #melanin, #forwomenofcolor, #browngirlbloggers... and a whole lot more. Well, the swatches are very questionable depending on who swatches them and how many strokes you're willing to use to get the pigment to pop. I swatched them live on the video then took photos afterwards, so you'll see the pigmentation and how many strokes it takes for some of the shadows to show up on my skin. For reference i'm NW43 in Mac foundations.

Buying products that you use regularly becomes a chore especially when you run out and can't get to the store right away, that's what happened to me when I ran out of my favorite makeup wipes... my Witch Hazel Cleansing Pads. I knew that I had a bottle of Witch Hazel in my bathroom and I knew that I also had some cleansing pads in one of my drawers. So I decided... why not make my own! I made a short video showing you exactly how I made them.

I'm starting a new video series for my Youtube channel showing you all the beautiful makeup items that I will be using for the week. I decided to do this series because I have a lot of makeup that I feel that might be appropriate for anyone watching or reading my blog that loves beautiful makeup. Most of my personal items of color are for brown skin / women of color, but I do highlight skin care and personal items that are for all women!

This is my first time using the Epicare hair removal tool. I'm used to having my facial hair around my mouth and chin waxed or threaded, both processes last for up to a month, probably because i'm over 50 and my hair doesn't grow back as fast as it used to. I initially had to wait a few weeks before trying this product because I didn't have enough facial hair.

I have been loyal to the Fashion Fair Cosmetics Brand for about 30yrs. They were the first cosmetics company for woman of color to hit the major department stores. There were a few others back then but they weren't nearly as hugh as Fashion Fair. I've seen this company dwindle down to the bare minimum over the years and has since totally lost their competitive edge with the major mainstream cosmetic companies. These are all of the Fashion Fair Foundations that I own and I use them lovingly.

I received some very beautiful hair from Salonlabs to review on my YT Channel and to also make a wig with. So i'm showing you the completed wig here along with the makeup I did to compliment the very dark hair that i'm not use to wearing. I wrote a post on my Wigmaking Blog all about the hair and how it preforms with lot of photos of the wig, to read that post Click Here.

Time is moving so slowly, my surgery was April 27th but it seems so long ago. I've been doing a lot of comparison photos lately just to see how much of a difference there is. I have noticed that my right eye is forming a crease. This is helping to open it up a little. I had my six week post-op appt today and I had another round of steroid injections directly into the scar on the right eyelid. I won't notice how well this round will work until after a week or so. I'm still using the Mepitac tape over the scar every night to apply the pressure to it. Today was the first time that I really wore makeup on the eyelids. They are still numb especially the eyelashes, they just don't know which way they want to go.. up, down or sideways.

After a week of gardening and re-potting plants, my nails were in dire need of a new mani. I'm getting better using my new electric drill, I do plan on writing a blog post and doing a video demo using it. The color I choose was this beautiful lavender, these are the color gel pots that I purchased from TMart. This color applied a little streaky. I only use two coats because they are both file off and soak off, but the more you use, it's definitely difficult to remove using either method.
