I received a sample of this Algentist Targeted Deep Wrinkle Minimizer from Sephora in one of my past orders. I probably had it for months without even realizing what a great product it was. So one day I was searching through my "Product Sample Stash" looking for a particular item when this sample caught my eye.
I pulled it out and said to myself, humm.... I think i'll try this tomorrow. Well, before I randomly try anything now I always look up reviews. I read a few positive notes on this item and decided to try it. It felt amazing on my skin and left me with a very matte complexion.... and that was the selling point because I have very oily skin.

I have to say that I love collecting skin care samples and rarely do I purchase from websites that don't offer free samples. Samples is my way of trying out the product before I purchase the full size, which we all know can become quite expensive especially if the product doesn't work for us. I'm a bit of a stickler when it comes to organization and I like being able to find things when I need them. This is my way of organizing my samples, I use plastic ziploc bags and tape labels onto them by categories. I show this all to you in the video below and I also gave you a mini tour of my makeup and filming area as well.

Beauty ~ By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder, Hydra-Face Primer, Hydra Eye Primer Review, Swatches & Video Demo on Brown Skin
Investing in good quality base products has become quite the obsession of mine as of late. I've been reading the reviews on the Hydra-powder for quite a while and everyone kept saying how sheer it was so I really wanted to try it. Not seeing any reviews on brown skin made me even more curious as to how it would preform and I must tell you that it did not disappoint! Anything that is hyaluronic based automatically has anti-aging properties that prevents the early signs of line formation and wrinkles and now we're seeing it in other products besides face creams and oils.

I purchased my primer form Sephora right before summer. I had heard that it was very matte and left the skin smooth and oil free. But right after I purchased it, I began wearing powder foundations because during the summertime, my face gets too oily with liquid foundations. Now that it's fall, I decided to give it a try underneath my MUFE HD Foundation which is one of my favorite foundations.

Most of the time I don't stray away from the items that I use on my face simply because what has worked for me over the years have kept my over 50+ skin soft, smooth and free of fine lines and wrinkles. I've been having problems with oils and I'm definitely an all matte girl. I don't like any oils coming through my makeup and living in Los Angeles that has always been a problem because I have normal to oily skin. On my quest to find primers that controls oils while providing a matte finish, I came across Hourglass Hourglass Veil Oil Free Mineral Primer and thought I would purchase it. Even though there's a Hourglass flagship store that recently opened in my area, I purchased mine from Sephora so I could get the points.

I picked up a few Lancome products recently to try. My intentions was to pick up a liquid foundation and do a full makeup look using these products but I really wanted to try them while I was on my vacation over the MLK weekend.

I've had plenty of time to test drive the NARS Smudge-Proof Eyeshadow Base because I received a sample (small tube in photo) inside a gift bag sometime ago. I didn't use it right away because I was so stuck on other brands, but it was time to try something new.
My eyebrows are very sparse so I had to have them very thinly tattooed, then I fill them in with brow pencils and powders to create the shape. It's imperative that I use some kind of base so my brows will stay on all day... imperative because I don't ever want to do a makeup check and see smudges on my brows... how awful would that look!

The Fashion Fair Chic Cinnamon True Finish Mineral Foundation it's a lightweight mineral foundation that i've come to love, it glides on very smoothly and gives a really great coverage, it's not an extended wear foundation because it's so lightweight and it actually reminds me of a BB cream. You can wear it alone or apply a powder foundation over it for more coverage. Since I live in California where the weather isn't that dry, I can just wear it as is.

I have been wearing this foundation primer for about a week now and i'm finally ready to give my honest opinion about the product. I first came across this product while watching a Youtube makeover by Kandee Johnson. She does makovers on average women and this particular makeover was on a women 56yrs of age. This was the primer she used in the video and her results were fabulous. I hesitated before buying it because I didn't know if Kandee was a spokesperson for the product, but since it was geared towards aging skin I decided to go for it. This primer isn't cheap, its cost $45 at Sephora.

I am absolutely in love with the Smashbox prime and set kit. I ordered this on a whim when Smashbox had their 30% discount during Black Friday weekend. I had read a few reviews that this primer was excellent for oily skin and I must say.... it didn't disappoint. My foundation looks flawless when I apply it over this primer. I still use a little milk of magnesia underneath it on my t-zone but I just love the way this makes my skin so smooth. I'm equally pleased with the setting powder. My preference is Mac's Prep & Prime setting powder but I have to say this setting powder set's my foundation just as nicely without noticing a huge difference.
