Swatches | Pat McGrath Skin Fetish 003 Review + Video

Pat McGrath Skin Fetish 003 Review

This is my very first Pat McGrath Labs purchase... yea!! I was so excited to when Sephora pre-released this to all the VIP Rouge members early.  It sold out within minutes of being released. This trio cost $70 and is also sold on her website. There were two versions of this Highlighter/Balm/Pigment which is formally called Skin Fetish 003 in Golden, the other color was Skin Fetish 002 in Nude. There are many ways to wear this trio which contains the Balm, the Highlighter and the Pigment. I made a short 2 minute swatch video highlighting how it is supposed to be applied swatched on my arm.

Beauty ~ YOUNGBLOOD Mineral Cosmetics Review & Swatches #ybcosmetics

Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics

Today I bring you some swatches and my thoughts from the Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics line. These products were created in the early 90's out of necessity for products that were pure and free of parabens and fragrances that are known to cause havoc on our skin.  At present, you can only purchase these product online from the company's website, unless you were lucky enough to have experienced them at one of the many upscale med-spas that are currently using them. Until now, they have been exclusive to industry professionals and spa venues, but the demand for such quality products has the company venturing in new directions.  I personally have known about this brand for quite sometime so I was excited for the opportunity to try a few products and see how they preformed.

Beauty ~ Favorite Bronze Coppery Highlighters for Women of Color

Bronze Coppery Highlighters for Women of Color

I wanted to share my love for coppery bronze colors that I feel compliment various skin tones but especially women of color. I have about 30 highlighters in my collection, half of them are from Mac and the other half are from other brands. When I look through my stash, most of my highlighters are what I call pale golden or blond golden colors which doesn't always flatter my skin.  Within the last two years I decided to search for more bronze colors that I thought would be more flattering on my complexion and this is what I have so far. Using these darker highlight colors on my brown/ebony complexion doesn't make me look too shimmery in my opinion.

Swatches ~ Mac Shaft of Gold and Oh Darling Extra Dimension Skin Finishes Holiday 2015 + Video

Mac Cosmetics just released their 2015 Holiday Collection and it's packed full of beautiful items such as eyeshadow palettes, lipstick trios, brush sets, lip & eye sets, single pigment eyeshadows and these very beautiful Extra Dimension Skin Finishes.  The only thing that I purchased so far were these two skin finishes.  I'm thinking about purchasing the pigment eyeshadows because when I swatched them in the store they were so buttery and soft and packed with color.

Swatches ~ Fashion Fair Metal Illuminator and Ginger Snap Eyeshadow + Video

Fashion Fair Metal Illuminator and Ginger Snap EyeshadowI recently heard a rumor that Fashion Fair Cosmetics was going out of business and this has been one of my Favorite Brands throughout the years.  I don't know how much truth it is to the rumor but I decided that the next time I went to church I would stop by the Macy's and pick up a few things.  My church is about a 30 minute drive from my home and there's a shopping center that has a Macy's which carries the Fashion Fair brand.

Swatches ~ Bobbi Brown Bronze Glow Highlight Powder + Video

Bobbi Brown Bronze Glow Highlight Powder

It's back in stock at Sephora so hurry and get it while supplies last.  Bobbi Brown Bronze Glow was definitely one of the most coveted items in the beauty world this summer.  I tried and tried to find it but it was sold out online and at all the major beauty counters.  Finally I received a "back in stock" email from Sephora and I immediately ordered it.  I'm sure that I have something almost exactly like this one in my highlighter collection.... but you know.... I just had to have it.

Swatches ~ Becca Blushed Copper Shimmering Skin Perfector

Becca Limited Edition Blushed Copper Shimmering Skin Perfector

Besides the fact that I accidentally dropped and cracked my newly arrived highlighter, I still had to photograph it for the blog.  This Becca Blushed Copper Shimmering Skin Perfector is the most beautiful thing i've ever seen and I predict that this will become an absolute jewel for darker skin complexions worldwide.  Before this sold out, I did place an order for another one which I will definitely handle with care once it arrives!

Swatches ~ Tom Ford Stroked Blush Highlighter Duo Christmas 2014

Tom Ford Stroked Blush Highlighter Duo Christmas 2014

This Tom Ford Stroked Blush Highlighter Duo is one of the most beautiful highlighter/blush duos that I've ever laid eyes on is none other than the Tom Ford Duo in Softcore.  Well, Softcore was all sold out everywhere but I was able to snag Stroked which is just as beautiful but a tad bit lighter than Softcore.

Swatches ~ Fusion Beauty UltraFlesh ShineBox Highlight & Shimmer Collection

UltraFlesh ShineBoxFusion Beauty UltraFlesh ShineBox Collection is a beautiful all-in-one set of highlighters and shimmers located inside one medium sized compact.

This might be the ideal solution for many MUAs (makeup artists) to carry around while on set for those immediate touch-ups needed on their clients.

I found this set quite charming and I know I will definitely use these colors because they are stunning!

Swatches ~ Laura Mercier Spellbound Face Illuminator

Spellbound Face Illuminator by Laura Mercier is breathtakingly beautiful. This illuminator was a part of the Laura Mercier Dark Spell collection. Just from the sound of it makes you think of mystical gothic thoughts and experiences.  I missed out on the last breathtakingly beautiful illuminator she released last Christmas which was called "Rose Rendevous".  That one sold out in stores pretty quickly, then sellers on eBay and Amazon had a field day inflating prices, so I ended up not purchasing that one at all.

Swatches ~ Mac Rio MSF

Mac Rio Mineralized Skin Finish (MSF)
Rio Mineralized Skin Finish (limited edition) was released this summer in the MAC Tropical Taboo Collection.  There were five MSFs released in this collection, three new and two re-promotes.  I also purchased "Lust" which I reviewed here.  I would describe Rio as a deep toned peach with lighter peach highlights.  What I like about this MSF is that there isn't any golden shimmers which is very common with MAC MSFs.  Similar color is Stila Heavenly Hue Highligher in Kitten.

Swatches ~ Mac Lust Mineralized Skin Finish

Mac Lust Mineralized Skin Finish

MAC released five Mineralized Skin Finishes in their recent Tropical Taboo Collection and I bought two of them.  I am actually in love with Mac Lust Mineralized Skin Finish, it is a deeper rose color with lighter rose highlights.  It's very pigmented and would look wonderful on any skin tones.

Chanel 2013 Spring Collection Illuminating Powder
I couldn't resist this beautiful illuminating powder that came out in the Chanel Spring Collection.  From the moment I laid eyes on it I knew I had to have it!  I would describe this as a very beautiful golden illuminator with just a hint of rose undertones.

Swatches ~ Mac Sun Rush Lustre Drops

Mac Sun Rush Lustre Drops

Applying just a tiny amount to the cheeks, forehead and bridge between the eyes, gives the face a beautiful illumination and glow.  There's nothing oily about this product and the color is absolutely amazing.  I'm so in love with this it's becoming one of my everyday staples.  I've been applying it to my upper cheeks as my highlighter, it gives such a different glow than the traditional highlight powders.  Maybe because it's a cream, it's giving my skin a totally different look.... and to think, I bought it on a whim!

Swatches ~ Guerlain Terra Soleia Bronzer

Guerlain Terra Soleia Bronzer

This Guerlain Terra Soleia Bronzer (discontinued) is by far one of the most beautiful bronzers I have in my entire collection.  But i'm not sure why it's called a bronzer, if you look more closely at the swatches, it seems more like a highlighter than a bronzer, so I would definitely say that it is multi-functional. Check out Guerlain for similar Bronzers.

Swatches ~ Mac Glorify and Superb Mineralized Skin Finishes

Mac Glorify and Superb Mineralized Skin Finishes

Mac released three new MSF's, I bought these two sight unseen based on swatched from Temptalia.com.  I was very impressed with Glorify which showed up very beautifully on my skin.

Swatches ~ Iman Afterglo Highlight/Bronzing Powder

Iman Afterglo Highlight/Bronzing Powder
This is such a hidden gem and it's an absolute must to have in your makeup collection!  The colors  are so pretty and I feel really compliment darker skin tones. She calls this a bronzing powder but it's actually more of a highlighter in my opinion.

Mac Redhead Mineralize Skin Finish
When I finally decided I needed this MSF in my life it was too late, it has sold out online and at most of the Mac counters everywhere. So... what's a girl to do? Post an ISO (in search of) in the coveted Mac Community on Live Journal.

Swatches ~ Chanel Lucky Strikes Iridescent Highlight Powder

Chanel Lucky Strikes Irridescent Highlight Powder
By far, the  Chanel Lucky Strikes Iridescent Highlight Powder (limited edition) is one of the most beautiful highlight powders for cheeks I've ever seen.  It comes in a range of three colors from rose to gold.  When I swatched it, the rose was more prominent on my skin tone and i'm very pleased with the results.  This highligher isn't cheap and although I paid a hefty price, it's well worth the money and a beautiful addition to my highlighter collection! Check out more Chanel permanent highlighters here.
