I asked my followers on Instagram if they wanted to see a video of "high-end palettes" or "high-end highlighters" for Fall they overwhelmingly choose "high-end palettes". So I gave them 6 of my favorite palettes for fall along with swatches. I also compared them to another palette from the same brand. The video is a little over 8mins long and is full of fun palettes and swatches. I hope that you take a moment and watch it and also follow me on YT for more video swatches and comparisons.

Urban Decay Moondust Liquid Eyeshadows because they are one of my favorite brands. I'm in love with these moondust eyeshadows. They can be worn over any eyeshadow to give it some sparkle or they can be worn alone to give the eyes a hint of shimmer. I used Spacetime over a burgundy eyeshadow and the results were stunning. I'm glad that these came out just in time for the holidays. These were $22ea, I purchased mine through Sephora and they're also available on the UD website.

Juvia's Place The Masquerade Palette was such a joy to swatch! This company is pretty new, black owned and has a total of three palettes on the market so far. It has become a favorite amongst women of color because the colors are so vibrant and actually show up our our brown skin. Included is a YT video of live swatches for those of you that just need a little more clarity before purchasing.

ABH Modern Renaissance palette on a whim, I was replenishing some much needed staples from Sephora online when I just decided to order this palette based on swatches that I had seen from another Y'tber. The colors appear more vibrant when swatched on my arm than they appeared applied to my eyes. I used Mac Painterly Paintpot as my base and the colors still weren't vibrant as I would have liked them to be. All in all, this palette is perfect for everyday use. It gives you a subtle look without too much drama and the colors can be touched up for a more dramatic nighttime look when necessary.

These two palettes have been circulating throughout the Instaphere on all the popular hashtags that women of color usually go to to look up swatches... some of them are #mmwoc, #brownskinswatches #brownskinbeauty, #melanin, #forwomenofcolor, #browngirlbloggers... and a whole lot more. Well, the swatches are very questionable depending on who swatches them and how many strokes you're willing to use to get the pigment to pop. I swatched them live on the video then took photos afterwards, so you'll see the pigmentation and how many strokes it takes for some of the shadows to show up on my skin. For reference i'm NW43 in Mac foundations.

Beauty ~ Tom Ford Honeymoon Palette | Chanel L'Intemporel De Chanel Palette | Chanel Sunkiss Ribbon Blush
These are a few items that I've been looking forward to wearing and creating some fun looks for Spring/Summer and beyond. The Tom Ford Honeymoon Palette was just released in the Tom Ford Spring 2016 collection. The Chanel L'Intemporel De Chanel Palette was from the Chanel Fall 2015 collection and the Chanel Sunkiss Ribbon Blush is part of the new Chanel Spring 2016 collection

UD Moondust Pigment Eyeshadows are absolutely gorgeous. There's about 15 of these pigmented eyeshadows in the collection. I picked up 4 of them. I love dabbing them over a matte shadow of the same color to make them pop. UD has so many eyeshadow palettes with lots of gorgeous colors but they are not travel friendly. I like to have smaller quads with about 4 shadows and then carry one or two of pigment shadows to add a little more depth for the evening. You may or may not know, I do my eyes everyday with shadow. I always tell people.... I didn't spend 3k to have my hooded eyelids lifted to not enjoy every moment I have with them.

One of my December purchases was this beautiful Gucci Autumn Fire Magnetic Color Eye Shadow Quad. I have one other quad that I purchased when they first launched last year reviewed here, and I like the quality and packaging of their products. I wanted to add another one to my collection since I have gravitated towards the smaller compact quads. Although I love my Urban Decay big bulky palettes, these smaller quads are easy to carry for touch-ups if needed while on the run.

Swatches ~ Mac Dazzleshadow Pigments from MACnificant Collection | ColorDrenched Pigments from Magic of the Night Holiday 2015 + Video
The MAC Dazzleshadow Pigments has very pigmented glitters released in a limited collection of ten Dazzleshadow colors. They are very creamy in texture and apply perfectly with very little fallout. As with all glitter pigments it is best to apply a glitter glue to keep them in place. I like to use these in the inner corner of my eyes for a hint of sparkle.

I created this look using this very gorgeous blue eyeshadow pigment from the Magic of the Night holiday 2015 collection which just launched from Mac. This shadow which is just packed with color. If you haven't picked up any of these shadows yet, I would highly recommend getting some, there's only 5 shadows in this collection and I purchased them all. Get Physical is from the MACificant collection which launched just before the holiday collection. I added a little glitter from bh Cosmetics in the inner corner which doesn't show up with my Sony Cybershot camera. I have a huge swatch fest coming this weekend of the 10 pigment eyeshadows that I picked up from both collections so stay tuned!

I had my eye on the YSL Couture Palette in Metal Clash as soon as it arrived online, I ordered mine from Sephora of course so that I could maintain my VIB Rouge status. This palette has something for everyone and if you're searching for the perfect palette that you can transition from day to night, then this is the one to have. It's limited edition so if you have this on your radar, you might want to get it disappears forever.

I recently heard a rumor that Fashion Fair Cosmetics was going out of business and this has been one of my Favorite Brands throughout the years. I don't know how much truth it is to the rumor but I decided that the next time I went to church I would stop by the Macy's and pick up a few things. My church is about a 30 minute drive from my home and there's a shopping center that has a Macy's which carries the Fashion Fair brand.

This limited edition collection was in collaboration with the Japanese Fashion Designer Guo Pei who is such a creative genius in color, style and flare. I absolutely adore the packaging and this was probably one of the main reasons that I purchased from this collection. This will probably be my last #maccosmetics purchase this year simply because Mac has become so overpriced with their limited edition collections and their quality hasn't been all that great. I absolutely love their Fluidlines and Paintpots so I will probably continue purchasing them because I've been collecting them since Mac first launched in 2003.

Swatches ~ Mac Vamplify, MACnificent Me Luzmaria & Tresor, Dazzleshadow and Studio Sculpt Superblack Mascara
I purchased the several items from the Mac Cosmetics store in my local Macy's and a few others online. I don't think that I have very many fall lipsticks so I wanted to add just a few to my stash. I'm still not sure if dark lipsticks a flattering on women over a certain age but I couldn't resist trying these two colors since the swatches I'd seen were breathtaking and complimented the fall eye looks that i've been so eagerly trying.

With the holidays approaching, there's quite a few brands that are releasing stunning palettes, problem is.... they are all limited edition. So you.. just like me... will be tempted to purchase them all or select the ones that are within your budget. I have always wanted to try KVD's eyeshadows. They are not cheap at $20 a pop, I have never been able to try them. However, when I saw this palette, I just knew that I had to have it.

The Clarins Garden Escape 6 Colour Eye Palette is one of those palettes that looks good on other people but keeps you wondering how the colors would look on you once you've swatched it. Truly it is a beautiful palette with lightly pale colors that just doesn't do my brown skin any justice. Four of the colors looks absolutely the same on me and two of them show color. It's very likely to say this palette will end up on my next blog sale.

My photos doesn't do justice to the Tarte Tartelette palette! I've seen photos over the net of swatches but I couldn't find any on #woc. So, on my next trip to Sephora, this palette was definitely on my radar. I took some time swatching it and what I loved about this palette is that it's an all matte palette, not one shimmer in tow.

Here in Los Angeles it already feels like summer. I'm in the mist of having hardwood flooring done in my den. If you follow me on Instagram, you've probably already seen photos of the hardwood flooring in my living and dining room, I had those rooms done before the holidays.

This is my very first Marc Jacobs palette. I loved the look of this Mark Jacobs The Siren Palette and I just had to have it. I looked at his entire collection while browsing Sephora and swatched quite a few colors. Overall, bright colors look best on my brown skin and most of the other palettes in the collection contained quite a few nudes, browns and taupe's which just doesn't do anything to brighten my complexion.
