These two palettes have been circulating throughout the Instaphere on all the popular hashtags that women of color usually go to to look up swatches... some of them are #mmwoc, #brownskinswatches #brownskinbeauty, #melanin, #forwomenofcolor, #browngirlbloggers... and a whole lot more. Well, the swatches are very questionable depending on who swatches them and how many strokes you're willing to use to get the pigment to pop. I swatched them live on the video then took photos afterwards, so you'll see the pigmentation and how many strokes it takes for some of the shadows to show up on my skin. For reference i'm NW43 in Mac foundations.
The Nubian Palette cost $23.99 and comes with 18g/0.63oz of product. I was very disappointed with the swatches in the first row, there was hardly any pigmentation and I kept going over the eyeshadows to bring the color more vibrant on my skin. The second and third row was much better and gave me a little more pigmentation and color. The video shows the colors more vibrant than in the photos.... honestly I have a nice dslr camera but my lighting was off.
The Nubian 2 Palette cost $28.99 and comes with .45g/1.58oz of product. The shadows in this palette are quite larger than the first palette. I was very excited about this palette because the colors were very pigmented and most of them swatched perfectly on the first or second stroke. The colors in the video show up more vibrant and more pigmented than they do in the photos so be sure to watch the video swatches as well!
