Juicing ~ Master Cleanse aka the Lemonade Diet


Over the weekend I embarked on another journey into the Master Cleanse aka the lemonade diet. I want to say right off, that this cleanse is not for the faint at heart!  Now just to recap, I have been juicing 2 days a week since Jan 1st.  I've chosen Thursday and Friday as my regular juicing days and this will continue as a part of my lifestyle and journey into wellness.

This past week I decided to throw in the Master Cleanse on Fri instead of juicing.  I found the ingredients on the internet and just hit it head on. BTW, did you know Beyonce lost 30lbs after her baby using the master cleanse.

Well, the master cleanse kicked my little juicing *&$#!  First off, the taste was really pleasant, it had a kick because of the cayenne but overall it didn't taste that bad.

Total throughout the day until 9pm that night, I consumed seven (7) glasses of this liquid and I had extreme hunger pangs, extreme compared to juicing. Every time I had a really bad pang, I drank a glass of this liquid.  Finally I had to go to bed because I was so hungry! Well that night was awful! I had mild stomach cramps and severe diarrhea. Every hour on the hour I was in the bathroom emptying my bowels.  I even had to wear a pad because I didn't want any accidents.  I don't know if I will ever do the master cleanse again.


Each week I cleanse, my body loses 1 to 3lbs. I think this is normal for me because of my age along with menopause.  I don't want to wither away but I do want to get my weight down to where I have a flexible range to play with.  I'm 5'7" so my goal weight is 135lbs.  

I lost a total of 5.5lbs in January. Inbetween juicing I ate normal and exercised regularly.  I don't eat beef or pork so I ate a lot of fish and chicken, with some turkey bacon thrown in.  Below is my weight after this two cleanse.
