It's been 12 years since I had my tummytuck.  I always wondered what I would look like having my scar tattooed. I was able to wear certain kinds of bikini's so that wasn't the problem, I guess I just never thought it was something that I would do.

One day while watching Windy Williams, she mentioned that she has her tummytuck scar tattooed, and also showed us a photo wearing an itty bitty black bikini.  Talk about jealous... that was the turning point for me and I was completely sold.

My search begin with flowers.  I knew I wanted a strip of flowers without any branches or stems.  I found a trio of flowers that were pink, purple and blue which was perfect for what I wanted.

Above are the flowers I selected. I downloaded the photo, cropped and played around with it in Photoshop until I arranged the roses the way I wanted them to appear, I used a photo of my scar in Photoshop so I could get an idea of how it might look.

Above is the drawing my tattoo artist made from my photo.  If you're in Los Angeles, the shop is called "yer cheat'n heart tattoo" and Vicki was my tattoo artist (pic of her business card below).

Above is the transfer to my skin (cell phone shot).  Because of the dark pigmentation in my scar, we discovered that the pink color I wanted wouldn't quite cover the scar, so we went slightly darker.

Above is an untouched photo of my scar.  My scar is flat but long and wide.

Above and below are the photos that i took with my iPhone when I first got home and before the crusting and flaking started. I have an iPhone 5 and I was standing directly in the sunlight shining through my bedroom window when I took these photos.  I can't tell you why the colors came out so vibrant, it might have been all the ointment I have on it.

Below is a very realistic photos of what my tattoo actually looks like, this was taken with my Canon EOS t3i. It's only been three days in the photo and so I was still swollen and sore. Yes it was painful but not teeth grinding painful.  My actual scar was a little numb so there was no feeling there, only on the surrounding areas of the scar did I feel a little pain but the numbing cream was wonderful along with some Tylenol 3.

Am I done..... I'm not sure, a part of me wants to cover a few stretchmarks around my lower back so who knows, but i'm done for now.
