Blogger ~ How to Use LinkedIn for Affiliate Marketing

How to Build Brands and Relationships Using LinkedInLast night I joined a Webnar sponsored by Serve that was entitled "LinkedIn for Bloggers: Connect with Brands and Build Relationships".  It was about 30 minutes long with a Q&A session at the end.  All the participants were on mute but we were able to submit our questions through the program used to connect the Webnar on the internet.

The keynote speaker was Jen Havic, Social Media Strategist from "Make Mention Media.  She was a former Blogger that started her own brand and eventually left the world of Blogging to start her own company.  Jan focused on how to build your brand using LinkedIn and how to establish long lasting relationships with companies using LinkedIn.  Below are some of the key points I've taken away from the Webnar:

Part I
Developing relationships with brands is important
B&B - build and market brand to business
Up your google ranking through LinkedIn - google loves LinkedIn!
Your LinkedIn profile is the 2nd item to show up if you google yourself, your google profile is the first

Part II
Get yourself noticed - make an awesome profile
Use keywords / tell a story / highlight accomplishments
Optimization - make your headline count
Headline is most important part of profile
Use search function keywords in profile header
Contact (website/email) is important, make sure it is on profile

Part III
Make connections and develop them
Use search function for finding similar people and groups
Connect with brands using search function
Join groups, get active in groups, make connections
Add content regularly / blog links / relevant content
Answer questions, respond to posts don't just post links

Part IV
Set goals / revamp profile / connect / build relationships
Extend your network from offline to online
Use Hootsuite (free version) - connect all your social profiles
You don't need to upgrade your LinkedIn profile to business (not necessary)
Stay focused / network
