Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask
When it comes to charcoal mask, I feel there's special antioxidants that draws out all the toxins in the skin... though I could be wrong. I actually bought two masks from Origins this past weekend, the second i'll review after i've tried it.  I was particularly searching for a deep pore cleansing mask that would draw out all my impurities and leave my skin feeling soft and clean and this one certainly fits the bill.

I no longer have any major skin problems, thanks to being over 50, I think once we've reached a certain age, blemishes and blackheads totally disappear. I am seeing different variations in my skin such as dry areas underneath my chin and oily areas around my cheeks, forehead and nose. I experimenting with different masks to see if I could even out these areas and bring a mutual balance to my skin.

Origins is a brand that i'm not that familiar with but I've read some reviews of products that enticed me enough to stop by the counter and have a consultation.  During my consult I was introduced to a variety of different products for my skin concerns and she graciously explained to me what each one does.  Since I was only interested in mask, I selected two products that I thought would suit my needs.

Here's what the Website says:

Active charcoal mask to clear pores

When environmental toxins, dirt and debris get under your skin, its waste-filtering system gets jammed, pores get clogged, skin looks cloudy. Nature's complexion clean-up crew gets to the bottom of skins overcast condition and clears the way for it to act its best. Activated Charcoal acts like a magnet to draw out deep-dwelling pore-cloggers, White China Clay absorbs environmental toxins, Lecithin dissolves impurities. Without all that "stuff" down there, skin "breathes a sigh of relief."

How To Use:
Once a week or as often as needed, open pores with warm, moist towel and layer mask on. Allow to dry, rinse well. Watch your skin shake off the shroud of dullness and take on a new clarity.
Best for all skin types

Cost:
1.7 fl. oz./50 ml US$17.00

Unbeknownst to me I didn't know that their were two sizes until I checked the website just now. Of course the SAs work on commission so why not give me the larger size.  I was also told that if I experienced any discomfort or if the product just wasn't working for me I could return it no questions ask.

I always mask in the mornings after i've finished my morning cleansing.  Sometimes before I mask, I use my tea kettle and steam my face for bout 10mins or so.  I love doing what I call a "tea kettle steam" and I've even introduced my 10yr old granddaughter to it, btw she loves steaming and masking.  Actually I've been using this product for the last 2wks and I really like it.  It doesn't dry totally stiff where I move my mouth but it does have good drying properties.  I always like to moisturize with a serum after I mask.  I feel serums adds a little extra boost after an intense mask session and I know my skin needs it.  All in all, I think this product is working for my combination/oily skin and i'm looking forward to trying the second mask I purchased.
