I have my Granddaughter for the week and she's been going swimming every other day. Normally I keep her hair in braids and just wash it in the braids so I won't have to deal with combing it. But she was going to a concert at the Orange County Fairgrounds to see a group called "The Wanted", so I had to deal with it.
What I did first was wash and condition, then it and let it air dry. Before it was almost dry, I parted her hair into 4 large sections and grouped them individually with clamps. Then I took one section at a time and parted it into smaller sections.
First I applied Natural Shea Butter from the roots to the ends then I applied the Eco Olive Oil Styling Gel from the roots to the ends. I like the Eco Styling Gel because it doesn't contain any alcohol which can be very drying to our hair.
I combed it through and then began twisting the hair into thin twists, I placed tiny rubberbands on the ends to prevent them from coming apart. Twisting creates a stretching effect to lengthen and stretch out her hair.
I let it dry thoroughly before I cut the rubberbands off the ends and untwisted the hair. I only pulled the twists apart with my hands, I did not use a comb because I didn't want to mess up the curls.
